Awkwafina

American musician and actor Awkwafina began her career with hilarious rap tracks that tackled sexuality and racial identities with a boldly comedic perspective before broadening her reach to Hollywood. Nora Lum, born in Forest Hills Queens to Chinese and Korean immigrants was her first music experience. She was a trumpet player. In addition to classical and jazz, the young Nora began studying hip-hop in her teens. When she was in the college years, she remained focused on her studies. She majored both in women's study and journalism. For a brief period of time in Beijing, Mandarin language classes were also offered. Her focus shifted towards music after she graduated. Her track My Vag which was her response to the Mickey Avalon song My Dick, became a huge hit on the Internet and was later featured on her first LP Yellow Ranger. On the album, there was other hits that went viral, including Queef (body-positive) as well as NYC Bitchethe cost of $. This track was directly linked to another project, Awkwafina's NYC Travel Guide, which was published in the year 2015. Apart from having a book published and a singer, she was also a professional as a performer.
